Tone and touch: An absolutely beautiful deep, full sound typical of a high quality German Richard Lipp & Sohn piano from the golden era of hand crafted European pianos.. Beautifully evenly weighted touch with original ebony and ivory keyboard.
 
This piano is an authentic Richard Lipp & Sohn ‘2 Crown’ Concert Upright Piano; the largest model ever manufactured in the original Richard Lipp & Sohn piano factory in Stuttgardt, Germany; very few of this model were ever made and they are now almost impossible to find in Australia. The serial number is stamped on the cabinet authenticating the pianos build year as 1906.
 
This piano is a truely amazing find in Australia; the world famous Richard Lipp & Sohn ‘2 Crown’ Concert Upright and a true statement of Victorian class and sophistication. Rarely have we seen a carved filigree walnut cabinet as stunning as this with both figured and burl walnut.
 
The piano also amazingly still has the original matching duet walnut piano bench which has been restored to match and reupholstered in new Warwick fabric.
 
The cabinet has been fully stripped back to bare wood and repolished and we carefully kept the authenticity of the piano. The original ebony and ivory keyboard has been fully restored as has the playing mechanism was competely dismantled, new components manufactured and installed throughout before being reassembled. The piano now plays perfectly, like the day it left the Lipp piano factory over 100 years ago and is fully regulated and tuned to A440 concert pitch.
 
With a smooth, responsive action, and a lovely warm tone, this premium German piano would be a beautiful feature and a gorgeous instrument for any home and a keepsake for generations to come!
