~ 1925 Thurmer  'Art Deco' Upright Piano ~
 
Restoration just completed at our piano restoration workshop in Evandale, South Australia. This stunning ‘Art Deco’ Inspired 1925 Thurmer piano is an extremely rare find in Australia, manufactured from flamed mahogany, this piano is absolutely beautiful.
 
Standing at 130cm in height, this was the largest upright piano manufactured by Thurmer in Meissen, Germany between 1912-1942.
 
This particular example has the most exquisite flamed mahogany cabinet which has been completely stripped back to bare wood and repolished in our workshop. Together with its ivory and ebony keyboard, solid brass hinges and locks , this piano is an absolute work of art. It could suit either a period style home or modern home as a beautiful feature piece.
 
Fully restored inside and out, the piano features a full iron frame, overstrung scale and full underdamper playing mechanism. The piano plays perfectly, has a lovely warm and mellow tone and is fully tuned to A440 concert pitch.
