~ Fully Refurbished Yamaha U2C(PE) Piano ~
This extremely rare 1968 model mid-century mahogany U2C piano has just arrived in our Adelaide store, we have seen only 1 of these pianos in 25 years! . It has now been fully refurbished and is ready for its new home! This beautiful piano is in absolutely immaculate, as new condition like the day it left the Yamaha factory.
Manufactured in 1968 during the the highly sought after ‘Golden Era’ for Yamaha, this classic model was built in the original Yamaha Piano Factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. Following this period, Indonesia and China emerged as the next piano manufacturing economies causing Yamaha to switch to cheaper manufacturing processes at a new factory in Indonesia from the early 1990s and right up to today.
The U2C stands at 127cm tall, very few of these pianos came to Australia with most piano retailers stocking the standard ebony U1 and U3 models. A mahogany U2C from this era is a rare find in Australia and would have been a custom ordered piano in its day.
