Manuel Cabrera II is a multi-award Filipino classical guitarist. He has won top prizes in major local and international competitions, including first prize at the 31st Nippon Guitar Competition Solo Category. In 2011, he held his solo debut concert at The Esplanade, earning him positive reviews from critics. He had been featured in the “Filipino Artists Series” at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and in the “New Artists Concert” at St. Cecilia Hall in Hiroshima, Japan.
He has also served as an adjudicator at the 2014 Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation Strings and Guitar Category and at the 8th Guitar Ensemble Festival at Republic Polytechnic.
He has opened another chapter in his career by venturing into musical composition for theatrical works, and has lent his talent to acclaimed playwright Asa Gim-Palomera’s Women of Asia and The Curious Lives of Shakespeare and Cervantes.
