Manufactured in the original C.Bechstein piano factory in Berlin, Germany in 1898. The piano was owned by a family in Toorak, Melbourne and amazingly remained in the same family home for over 100 years.
 
We have tuned and maintained the piano for many years for the previous owners and when it came up for sale we jumped at the chance to acquire this stunning instrument for restoration and resale.
 
The piano has been completely restored by us inside and out in our piano restoration workshop in Evandale, South Australia. Restoration work has included new tuning pins and strings throughout, full restoration of the playing mechanism as well as a full restoration of the original ivory and ebony keyboard. We have also fully refinished the stunning two tone cabinet, combining European Ebony and with Burl Walnut highlights; this piano now presents as brand new. With a new C.Bechstein Semi-Concert Grand Piano now retailing for in excess of $240,000 this is the perfect option for the new piano buyer. A beautiful and classy vintage instrument that looks and plays like a brand new piano!
 
No less than 500hours labour has gone into restoring this amazing instrument. It plays absolutely perfectly and is a stunning example from the Victorian / post romantic period.
 
We have also obtained the official documentation of original manufacture and sale from C.Bechstein, Germany adding to the authenticity of the instrument.
