Manufactured in the highly sought after ‘Golden Era’ for Kawai (1968 - 1988) in the original Kawai piano factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. Following this period, Kawai switched to cheaper manufacturing processes in Indonesia from the early 1990s.
This 1 owner piano is one of the best original Kawai Grand Piano’s we have ever had in stock. In absolutely stunning condition inside and out, it is literally like the day it left the showroom floor when it was brand new. When it arrived in our store, we were absolutely blown away with its condition, even the undercarriage and structure of the piano is immaculate (see photos of it on its side as we set it up in our showroom).
A highly sought after model, these original Japanese made KG5D models are becoming increasingly difficult to find in this condition and at this price point. Comparable in build quality to the new Kawai GX-5, in our opinion, this piano is even better than a new piano.
Now ready for sale and immediate delivery, it has been fully refurbished in our piano restoration workshop in Adelaide; we are now one of the last piano business in Australia to still operate an onsite piano restoration workshop. As with all of our fully imported pianos, we have gone to the trouble of obtaining a certificate of authenticity verifying the piano was fully built in Japan.
