Fully restored and completely repolished in a contemporary satin finish in our piano restoration workshop; this piano is a really unique find. A beautiful 1928 Art-Deco George Steck Concert Upright Piano manufactured from beautiful light American Oak. Rarely do you see a piano manufactured from a light coloured timber, as most pianos of this era were stained dark.
George Steck pianos, initially established in 1857, were known for their high quality and rich, clear tone. The brand was founded by George Steck, a German immigrant, who later built his company in New York. Steck pianos gained recognition for their craftsmanship and were praised by many famous composers.
Standing at 134cm in height, this was the largest upright piano manufactured by Steck Pianos between 1918-1938 and was called their Concert Upright Model.
Together with its beautiful cabinetry and original brass candelabra, this piano is an absolute work of art. It would suit either a period style home or modern home as a beautiful feature piece.
Fully restored inside and out, the piano features a full iron frame, overstrung scale and full underdamper playing mechanism. The piano plays perfectly, has a lovely warm and mellow tone and is fully tuned to A440 concert pitch.
