A fully restored 1926 Steinway & Sons ‘Model XR’ Duo-Art Reproducing Player Grand Piano with a fully automated Aeolian electric motor installed.
 
This is the classic, original version of the modern Steinway & Sons ‘Spirio’ self playing piano. For a piano lover, owning this instrument would be like what it is to own a beautifully restored vintage Aston Marton or Ferrari is to a car lover.
 
This magnificent intstrument was manufactured in the original Steinway & Sons Piano Factory in New York in 1926 and was the most technologically advanced piano of its time. They were an extremely expensive, exotic and luxurious item that only the extremely wealthy could afford to purchase. 
 
With only a handful of these pianos still in existence throughout the world, they are now a highly sought after and collectable instrument that will only continue to appreciate in value.
 
This piano was previously owned by a famous and renowned Australian family from Double Bay, Sydney. The piano was fully restored to an extremely high standard in 2009 at a cost of over $60,000. 
This included a full rebuild and restoration of both the piano and player piano mechanisms as well as a full repolish of the ebony cabinet. The Piano's player mechanism operates absolutely perfectly and comes with over 250 Duo-Art Player Rolls that the previous owner purchased brand new from overseas, many have never even been played.
 
Besides the player piano side of this instrument, it is a beautiful piano in its own right. With a smooth and responsive touch, and a lovely warm tone, this premium Steinway grand piano would be a beautiful feature and a gorgeous instrument for any home and a keepsake for generations to come!
 
Very simple to operate, to set the piano to self playing mode, simply attach a roll, press play then listen and watch the magic happen!
