This absolutely beautiful Steinway & Sons C-227 Semi-Concert Grand Piano is a true statement of class and sophistication from the post-romantic period and golden era for Steinway & Sons Pianos. Manufactured in the original Steinway & Sons piano factory in Hamburg, Germany in 1898, it is the only example of this particular cabinet we ever seen in Australia.
Previously owned by a famous pianist from Sydney, this piano was discretely acquired by us through Steinway Australia as a trade in for one of their brand new Steinway Grand Pianos. The piano was transported directly from the previous owners home in Sydney to our piano restoration workshop in Adelaide.
Meticulously restored on site in our piano restoration workshop, this amazing hand made vintage example is manufactured entirely from Brazilian Rosewood. With its amazing hand carved art series legs and pedal Lyar you will most likely never see another one of these pianos again.
The piano has had its cabinet completely stripped back to bare wood and repolished. The original ivory and ebony keyboard was fully restored as well as the original playing mechanism which was completely dismantled, every component removed and restored.
The keyboard and mechanism were then reassembled, regulated, and the piano fine tuned to A440 concert pitch. This piano now plays perfectly with a stunningly beautiful rich, warm and deep tone typical of a vintage Steinway & Sons Model C-227.
